Referring a patient

A simple, two-step process

Referring a patient is easy. Choose a centre and send us a referral letter or complete the downloadable referral form.

The referral letter must include the following details:

  • Patient demographic details (name, address, date of birth)
  • Patient contact telephone number - so that we can ring the patient with the next available appointment
  • The contact telephone number and fax number for your clinic/surgery
  • Type of scan required (e.g. MRI, CT)
  • Relevant clinical history of the patient and clinical indication for the scan
  • Your signature

When the procedure is booked

We will send your patient if time permits before the appointment:

  • A confirmation letter.
  • A guide explaining the procedure in full and the best way to prepare.
  • Details of the centre’s location.
  • A questionnaire – if relevant – designed to confirm that the procedure is appropriate for your patient.

After the procedure – receiving your report

We will provide you with an accurate and comprehensive report, prepared by our Radiologists who are all established experts in their field. We will send the report to you as soon as possible after the scan has been completed. The images will be available on hard copy film, computer disk or on our own picture archiving and communications system (PACS).

Turnaround times will take your needs into account; we will report urgent conditions to you immediately. If you need to discuss a particular case, our Radiologists are very happy to talk to you direct.

Questions

If you have any medical or technical questions about the report or want to discuss it with a Radiologist – please contact the centre you’ve chosen.
