Alliance Medical’s staff members have helped raise a massive €2,356 for the Sudan Appeal
Alliance Medical are very proud to announce that staff members in Cork University Hospital have raised an impressive €2,356 for the Sudan Appeal. Amidst the current political uncertainty and conflict in Sudan, vulnerable individuals are unable to reach food, water and medical treatment. The funds raised by members of the Alliance Medical team were used to buy lifesaving medical equipment to help the vulnerable people of Sudan. The money went towards a semi-automatic AED, electrode pads and a training unit.
The much-needed funds were raised from two events, a bake sale and a table quiz. The Sudan Appeal is an initiative by members of the Bon Secours Hospital in Tralee. Members of staff baked cupcakes, scones, breads, doughnuts and chocolate treats. An amazing €750 was raised from donations and the sale of raffle tickets.
A table quiz was held in Sober Lane in Cork City, which raised a huge €1606. Many staff members helped out on the night, correcting quiz answers, selling tickets and helping with the raffle. The event had 15 tables enter with the top prize of four €25 vouchers proudly sponsored by Alliance Medical. The night’s winners ‘Team Isodopes’ members were from both the MRI unit and PETCT. The raffle on the night had over thirty prizes which were supplied by local business and members of staff.
The money raised from both events were used to purchase a defibrillator, a training unit and five defibrillator pads. The equipment is now on the way to Sudan.
