Alliance Medical Killarney: A New Era in Diagnostic Imaging 

Alliance Medical Diagnostic Imaging is delighted to announce our plan to open a new state of the art diagnostic imaging centre opening in the Reeks Gateway Building, Killarney in early 2024. Alliance Medical Killarney is a significant expansion and marks a new era in diagnostic imaging for the community of Killarney. This imaging centre will provide world class imaging such as MRI, Xray, Dexa and ultrasound. We couldn’t be happier with this news, and we are really looking forward to providing this much needed service to the area. 

We currently provide all MRI services to the people of Kerry in our scan centres based in the Bon Secours Hospital and University Hospital Kerry. 

•     A Hub of Cutting-Edge Imaging Technology 

Alliance Medical Killarney will be a hub of cutting-edge imaging technology, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic services to cater to the diverse healthcare needs of the local community. Among the array of scans to be provided, patients will have access to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), X-ray, Ultrasound, Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA), and cardiac calcium scoring.

MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, is a non-invasive and highly detailed imaging technique that unveils the inner workings of the body. It is particularly valuable for diagnosing a wide range of conditions, including neurological disorders, joint injuries, and various forms of cancer. With the introduction of MRI services in Killarney, patients will benefit from timely and accurate diagnoses, reducing the need for travel to distant facilities. 

•     X-ray and Ultrasound: Versatile and Essential 

X-ray and Ultrasound are fundamental diagnostic tools in the realm of medical imaging. These services will be readily available in the new Killarney centre.

Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry (DXA) plays a crucial role in assessing bone health, particularly for individuals at risk of osteoporosis. Cardiac calcium scoring, a specialized imaging technique, helps in the early detection of coronary artery disease, enabling timely intervention and prevention.
